Questions about - Getting Here
Our address is 60 Hillsborough Street, Charlottetown at the corner of Hillsborough St and Sydney St.
It is a grey house with red shutters.
There are 4 ways to get here:
- Walk (20 minute walk)
- City Bus Route 2 ($2 cash fare, Monday to Friday, See www.t3transit.ca for accurate schedules)
- Taxi
A Taxi is probably your best bet as there are usually several taxis waiting outside.
Another option is the city bus. Check https://www.t3transit.ca/ for routes and schedules.
Absolutely. There is free and ample street parking (especially on weekends) on Hillsborough St next to the park (between Sydney and Richmond)
There is also limited off-street parking available
If you are arriving by campervan, truck, or have a trailer/other large vehicle, we suggest you use off-street parking so as to not block the sidewalks.
Motorcyclists are encouraged to use street parking directly in front of the hostel.

Nope! We are a family-friendly hostel and allow travellers of all ages to stay. That said, we do have a few policies and rules in place to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for everyone:
We do not accept bookings made by those under the age of 18. Guests between 16 to 18 years wishing to stay at the hostel will require written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Children aged 12 and under can only stay in private rooms or privatized dorms when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Children aged 13 to 17 can stay in shared accommodation if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Failure to adhere to these age policies will result in an automatic cancellation of your booking.
If you are travelling with an infant, please email us so we can best prepare for your visit.
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate pets, and emotional support animals.
Certified guide and service dogs are allowed. Please contact us in advance so we can prepare for your visit.
Group reservations are possible depending on availability. Please email us directly about your group's needs and we will do our best to accommodate.
We are always trying to make our guest experience a great one. Please feel free to email special requests to info@charlottetownbackpackers.com. Though we cannot guarantee we can accommodate your request, we will strive to do our best.
For refundable bookings, we have a 24-hour cancellation policy so if you need to cancel, please ensure that you cancel before 12pm (noon) the day before your reservation or you will be charged for the first night of your stay.
This cancellation policy does not apply to non-refundable bookings.
Questions about - Our Facilities
We are a very small hostel, so we do not have laundry facilities here. However, 1 minute away on the corner of Hillsborough and King you will find the Black & White Convenience Store which has laundry facilities.
They also have a drop-off facility if you want to leave your laundry and go out for the day. You can purchase laundry soap etc. there as well.
Though we cultivate a welcoming atmosphere, or facility and services are reserved for guests of the hostel and invitees from management only.
If you wish to hang out with non-guests, feel free to ask us about local hot spots in the area. We've got a TON of recommendations.
